It's often the case that when things can't get any worse they do! My house guest was convinced that Josh had broken his wrist judging by the painkillers he needed afterwards but sometimes things are not quite as bad as they seem so perhaps there will be better news after the hospital medics have had a look.
Did I read that Mitchell Davey has been advised to take a month off too because of the dizzy spells he has been suffering? If so surely Gary Beaton will be given the chance he deserves. I guess Glasgow may have to use R/R for Josh meantime (who can take his rides?) but it looks as though James superguest Grieves gets his new average on Thursday. Since it's higher than Shane's who can Glasgow turn to now?
The Tigers' season is beginning to look like ours for the past year or so. It ain't much fun but the consolation is that home matches are often nail-biting affairs with last heat deciders which at least have plenty of interest.

It's only Robert , Ross and Gary Beaton who could take Josh's rides . It's been an awful season so far , but other teams in other seasons go through this and come out the other side . It's just when you're going through it yourself there seems no light at the end of the tunnel . This is where a promotion shows itself to be up to the job or not . It's no good wallowing in self pity and trotting out excuses - decisions will have to be made in the next week or two and whether the promotion are up to the task will determine the possible future of Glasgow speedway .

Just when you think it couldn't get any worse for Glasgow and their fans, this happens. I really do feel for the Tiggers Speedy recovery Josh.

Spirited performance by Glasgow tonight, before going down 40-52 at Birmingham.
Stars of the show for the Tigers were Carl Stonehewer and Ross Brady. But for an engine failure for Trent Leverington in Heat 13, which changed a 5-1 to the Tigers to a 4-2 to the Brummies, it could have gone down to the final heat.
Jason Lyons (max) and Adam Roynon (unbeaten after Heat 4 e/f) were class acts for the Brummies.
The racing started off a bit processional, but really took off in the second half of the meeting - much better meeting than at Cov on Monday.
Young Paulco seemed well pleased with the performance of the Tigers.

Apart from the soap opera in his 4th heat....I thought he was about to cry and retire from the sport for good when his bike wouldn't start for the umpteen time. Understandable that he didn't want to change bikes - because his No.1 machine was propelling him from the tapes. Glasgow didn't look like a bottom of the table team to me - and adding up their averages, there's a lot fo room for changes once they've done their 6 home, 6 away. I don't think they'll be bottom of the league come the end of the season.

And tomorrow at the Messiahless Messiahdome it's the league's "new boys" Scunthorpe, fresh from humiliating the sorry Diamonds last night. It could be a very tricky meeting for the heathen Tigers - the Scorpions have already won at the stadium formerly known as Brough Park and won't be pushovers for a weak Glasgow team. I can see an away win here, much as that would pain everyones' favourite wandering heathen.

No, I was quite impressed by Glasgow's battling performance at Birmingham on Wednesday night, so I'm going for a home win with young Brady again the match-winner. Who's the Glasgow guest tomorrow?

No, I was quite impressed by Glasgow's battling performance at Birmingham on Wednesday night, so I'm going for a home win with young Brady again the match-winner. Brady will soil his kevlars the minute he sees Carl Wilkinson on track - great little rider, Wilkinson. And according to the Glasgow website Kauko Nieminen - a former heathen Tiger, of course - will be guesting in place of the Messiah.
