What would be the weird choice of rider of the decade?
Jarno Kosenen, Rene Madsen, Jan Pedersen, Dickie Juul?

Mirko Wolter Ashamed to say this, but never heard of him. Well he did ride for Berwick and appear in one or two GPs.Also finished with the same amount of points as Nicki P in the World Junior Final in 95 or 96 ;D

Me neither.Missed most of it. ;D But Mirko was one of the best riders i have seen in the last few years. One of those riders that had plenty of talent but little dedication.By all accounts a party animal, but when he was starting out at 16/17 was beating top stars. But then according to my friend herman on the BSF,there were only a handfull of tracks he could do it on.Still very much missed on the German speedway scene

It turned out he was injured. Shame really, because he had some good meetings at SFP for Sheffield. One German that did ride for Berwick in the 90's was Jorg Pingel, who was actually quite decent. Berwick's lists of German's is Jorg Pingel, Steffen Mell and Joachim Kugelmann. www.asd-nms.de/interne_pages/mein-team.html- this is what Jorg is up to these days.

Remember him signing.Thought he made at least a couple of appearances. But with my memory i ain't surprised ;D I think Pingel,Mell and Wolter were/are all in the same drinking group .Not certain but i do think this new group of German riders are more dedicated and clean living. But maybe i don't know the full story on them

Actually Goldmember, now you mention him Kugelmann was one of the best signings for berwick in recent years.Much to my surprise. But his stint there was cut short by some sort of disagreement wasn't it?And to be honest, since then he has hardly done a thing. Not sure, but i can't recall seeing him in the North since.Seems to only ride locally (Southern Germany/Austria/Italy)
